This conference was organized by the Hearing Loss Association of America Kentucky Chapters (HLAA-KY) in partnership with the Kentucky Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (KCDHH). The Mission Statement of KCDHH is to provide effective and efficient leadership, education, advocacy and direct services to eliminate barriers and to meet the social, economic, educational, cultural and intellectual needs of deaf and hard of hearing Kentuckians. 

The Commission’s Statistical Demographics Deaf and Hard of Hearing Individuals in Kentucky, updated 2013, shows that in a population of 4,339,367, Kentucky has approximately 666,529 people who have a hearing loss and 27,772 people who are Deaf.
